CASE STUDY / PUBG MOBILE

Give fans and creators a day on the same team.

PUBG Mobile is a survival game where players compete to be the last team standing. I developed a paintball event concept where fans and creators could play together in person. The marketing team later brought it to life.

  • Event concept
  • Helmet design
[OVERVIEW]

Tencent was an ongoing client. In a team meeting, I proposed paintball because taking cover, moving together, and looking out for teammates echoed how people played PUBG Mobile.

A / Audience

Give fans time to play with the creators they follow.

Meeting a creator is one reason to turn up. Playing together gives fans time for more than a quick hello. I wanted the game to give them a natural way to get to know each other.

B / Business

Give existing players a reason to stay involved.

The event gave PUBG Mobile a way to thank existing players for being part of its community, with an experience built around them.

C / Culture

Coming out of COVID restrictions, people could get together again.

For PUBG Mobile’s online community, that meant a chance to meet in person. Paintball gave fans and creators something to do together, built around the teamwork they knew from the game.

The idea became a day of play for the community.

The marketing team produced the event after my involvement ended. Below are the design references and deliverables, followed by photos and the official recap of the community’s day on the field.
